Nicholas Parson, the chairnan of the popular Radio 4 programme ?Just a Minute? will be appearing at the Arundell Arms Hotel at Lifton on Saturday, October 28, to present his tribute to Edward Lear. Nicholas, who has enjoyed an illustrious career in theatre, film, television and radio, presents a show he has written himself on the nonsensical poet ? renowned for such songs as ?The Owl and the Pussycat?. The evening will illustrate Lear?s remarkable fantasy world through the delivery of his highly imaginative and delightful nonsense verse and give a rounded picture of the man?s amazing life and unusual personality. The show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £50 and includes a three-course supper, either pre-performance at 6.15pm or post-performance at 9.15pm.
