THE Women's Guild and Fellowship met in the Methodist Hall, when a good number attended. Miss Brenda Curtis welcomed everyone, including Andy Hunter, who led devotions and also spoke about Lydia, a Biblical figure who led prayer meetings. He also spoke about the importance of prayer today. The meeting concluded with refreshments served by Mesdames A Vincent and P Reddaway.

Northlew Children's Group holds its annual shopping evening in the Victory Hall, Northlew, from 3pm to 7pm on Friday November 26. There will be a range of stalls selling individual and quality craft items and produce. Fish and chips, mince pies, mulled wine etc will be available from 5pm.

CELEBRANT and preacher at parish communion was Bishop Richard Hawkins. Derek Chivers was organist and Mrs P Durston read the lesson. Duty sidesman was C Baker.

Evening prayer was conducted by Dr Marilyn Livingstone.
