2312 (TAVISTOCK) Squadron Air Cadets recently enrolled its latest batch of new recruits.

Eleven cadets have completed instruction in basic drill, care of uniform, the history of the ATC and rifle shooting.

The cadets from Tavistock and district were enrolled by the Squadron CO Flt Lt John Olver as the squadron chaplain is awaiting a hospital operation and was unavailable.

CO John Olver said: 'It is very pleasing to be able to enrol so many new cadets.

'Both our squadron and Okehampton Squadron will now be looking to recruit more cadets to start the summer training programme.

'There are also opportunities for adults to become instructors — no service experience is required.'
