A NEW mural measuring 28ft by 8ft is to be painted at the Tesco entrance in Callington, making visitors aware of the town's mural trail and to encourage them to visit the town centre.

It was agreed by developers to fund a new mural when the supermarket at Tavistock Road was being constructed.

Artist David Whittley, renowned for his murals within the district, has been commissioned to come up with a suitable mural that depicts town facilities. It will be painted directly on to seven weatherproof boards.

Around 20 murals adorn walls around Callington, giving visitors an insight into the town's history. Callington's large range of specialist shops will also be advertised on the new mural.
