OKEHAMPTON Town Council recently co-opted a new councillor ? Mrs Patricia Jones, of Station Road. Mrs Jones was born in Yorkshire but has lived in Devon for 23 years, and in Okehampton for the past 13 years. She works as a PA to the director of health and social care at Devon Partnership NHS Trust at Wonford House Hospital, Exeter. She is secretary of the Okehampton branch of the Conservative Association and a member of the executive committee for the new Central Devon Conservative Association. After leaving Bingley Grammar School and Secretarial College, Mrs Jones worked in a family brewery in Bradford, where she met and married her husband Roy. The couple have been married for 45 years and have two children and four grandchildren. The vacancy on the council arose following the death of Cllr Michael Roberts.
