THREE new courses are being organised by the Oasis Centre in Gunnislake following the success of the short courses run before Christmas. Computer Fundamentals will run every Monday morning for three weeks starting on January 24. The course will cover basic computer skills, desktop publishing, digital photography and computer art. It will also help people who are looking to improve their work-related skills with job search, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and file management. Every Wednesday from February 2 there will be courses in the morning and afternoon. The morning course will allow people to create articles for the BBC People?s War website and submit them to the site. The website allows ordinary people to tell their stories from world war two and it is hoped Calstock and Gunnislake people will have some interesting stories. The afternoon course will be similar to Computer Fundamentals, focusing on improving people?s computer skills. The courses are a joint effort between the Calstock Development Trust, Cornwall Adult Education and Link into Learning.
