IN their inaugural match in the premier snooker league 'new boys' Con Z swept to joint top of the league with a well fought 4 – 1 win over Con C.

Ash Morton set the scene with a convincing win over Neale only for Bassett to bounce back with one for Con C over Jankowski. After came three tight frames with Con Z taking all of them, McKechnie, Dodd and Symons doing the business for the Z team and giving the 'new boys on the block' a superb start to the season.

Tavy A also started their season brightly with a good 4 – 1 win at West Devon B. A captain's innings from Stewart over Moule got the ball rolling, backed up by a tight win for Hoar over Gilchrist. West Devon B fought back with Roger Rich keeping his composure to take a black ball frame to reduce the deficit. Ryall then stretched the lead again making short work of Mr Bath for the Tavy Club, with Woods edging out a tenacious May to make it 4 on the night for Tavy A.
