THE new headquarters of Okehampton Squadron Air Cadets were officially opened on May 19 with a programme of events, including displays, talks and presentations. The building has been up for approximately a year, but the final parts of the work were only recently completed. The displays at the opening evening included a drill display and there was a final parade. Various cadets gave talks about their different experiences in the cadets and what they had been doing during their time with the Air Cadets. The range of activities in which cadets can take part include flying, gliding, shooting, camps, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, canoeing, camping and the Ten Tors. The new headquarters building is in Tors Road in Okehampton. l Pictured at the opening of the headquarters are some of the air cadets with CWO Nick Browne and CO Ft Lft Philip Mingham.
