POLICE investigating the barn fire at a farm in the Crockernwell area have renewed their appeal for any information leading to the recovery of 250 stolen geese. The fire occurred at around 4.08am on Friday, November 30 and resulted in 25% of the barn being severely damaged. The barn was being used to house a large number of geese. A number of the birds perished in the fire although many were rescued by farm workers. Police said it has emerged that some of the geese were due to go to Highgrove this Christmas and that around 250 had been stolen from the barn prior to the fire.
