DESPITE the mixed summer weather, organisers of Bere Alston Gardening Club?s annual show are hoping for record entries.

The show, which will be held in Bere Alston Parish Hall on Wednesday, September 8, concentrates on flowers, fruit and vegetables, but there are also classes for handicrafts, cooking, preserves and wine. There is also a flourishing children?s section for primary and secondary school age groups.

Entries are welcome from all comers and show schedules are available in shops and businesses in Bere Alston or by telephoning the show secretary on 01822 840425.

The show opens to the public at 2.15pm and prizes will be presented by Stan Sherrell at 7pm.
