A FORMER pupil of Tavistock College is hoping to complete his Land?s End to John O?Groats cycle ride this Saturday, August 4. James Aggiss is completing the marathon journey with a university friend, Matt Johnson, having started out on July 22. Their aim was to cycle 70 miles a day. They are raising money for the Parkinson?s Disease Society as Matt?s girlfriend?s father has the disease and they have witnessed the problems it causes for those who have it and their families. Both riders have also completed degrees in physiology, where they learned about the disease and other conditions. During their journey they have faced punctures, slipping gears, broken panniers and had to re-route through Wales to avoid the floods in Gloucestershire. James has noted that mental fatigue far exceeds physical fatigue.
