Bovey Tracey v Tavistock
ON a damp wicket Tavistock won the toss and inserted Bovey.
Tavistock got off to the best possible start when Bovey Captain I Colton was yorked by Rob Solway for only one.
Bovey struggled to make any headway thanks to accurate opening spells from John Doel and Rob Solway. But when South African K Vandyke came to the wicket, smashing a quick 56, he pushed the total score to over the 100 mark.
S Newton then pushed and prodded a quick 41 to give Bovey a respectable 164 for 6.
Tavistock also got off to a poor start with Kaitiff, McGahey and captain Manning all back in the hutch with only 12 on the board.
A stand of 91 between Langman, 40, and Mortimore, pushed Tavistock into contention and a major upset. Colin Mortimore went on to score an impressive 51 not out, but it was left to Ben Neale to smash a quick-fire 11 to clinch a historic victory for Tavistock by thee wickets with only 10 balls to spare.
