Uplyme and Lyme Regis v Lewdown

Lewdown had to play this latest Devon Division D match at Chardstock as Uplyme and Lyme Regis' home ground was hosting a village fete.

The visiting captain Charlie Hughes won the toss was a good one to win and put Uplyme into bat.

Lewdown's opening bowlers Robert Mutch (6-30) and Kris Harris (3-47) ripped through the home team's batting line-up reducing them to 88 all out.

Despite a couple of small hic-cups Lewdown's batsmen finished the game off in less than 18 overs with Kris Harris again finishing top scorer on 43. Lewdown 20 pts.

Lewdown v Yelverton 

Lewdown hosted highly rated Yelverton in the latest Devon D fixture and turned in an exceptional team performance by demolishing the opposition in double-quick time.

Yelverton batted first and put on a good opening partnership of 40 before Phil Yeo (1-32) capped an excellent spell of bowling by taking the first wicket. Yelverton found it hard going from then on with good bowling performances from Robert Mutch (2-37) and Adie Clements (2-2) keeping them in check. The main bowling plaudits went to Adie Edmonds who bowled perfectly for the conditions taking 5-15 in six exceptional overs. Lewdown produced a top-of-the-table fielding performance as well by holding six good catches. The home side went out to bat for 45 minutes before tea and went in at the break on 32-1 with the loss off Harry Geering. Kris Harris (56 not out) and Mark Jordan (34 not out) made light work of the opposiition total and finished the game off in 21 overs.

Lewdown 20 pts Yelverton 0 pts. Lewdown remain unbeaten at the head of the table. Lewdown's next match is away to Whitchurch.
