TWO West Devon men will be holding a 24-hour live music marathon next month in a bid to raise £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Paul Gill, 47, had a quadruple heart bypass in 2010 and plans to host the non-stop music session with close friend Ivor Lander on November 10 — exactly one year to the day that he had his life saving operation.

The event, starting at 7pm at Bere Alston United Church, will see Paul and Ivor playing drums and keyboard through the night and following day, finishing on the evening of Armistice Day.

As well as inviting people to watch, the musical duo is inviting fellow musicians from the local area to bring along their own instruments and play along too.

Paul said: 'November 10 this year will hold a lot of significance for me because it will be exactly one year to the date that I underwent a life-saving heart operation.

'I wouldn't have been able to take on this challenge unless I had made the recovery that I have.

'We hope to provide 24 hours of musical entertainment and hope other musicians help us do that too.

'Ivor and I hope that people come and support us on the evening and help raise vital funds for a fantastic charity.'
