PETER Tavy Village Hall will be welcoming acoustic roots duo Mambo Jambo to take audiences on a musical journey next week.

Mambo Jambo brings together sounds from world, roots, folk and jazz influences, alongside its own compositions.

The duo’s repertoire draws in a wide range of styles, including bluegrass, Latin, Caribbean, New Orleans, Balkan and more.

Between them the duo — Frankie and Pete — play ten different instruments.

Frankie plays sax, clarinet, flute, guitar and percussion and Pete is on guitar, banjo, ukulele, tres (traditional cuban guitar), accordian – and suitcase. They both sing.

The show is brought to Peter Tavy Village Hall on Friday, March 24 through the Villages in Action scheme, which has been supporting performances for the last 26 years.

The closure of the scheme means this will be the last of the many shows that have visited the village.
