AN enterprising woman from Milton Abbot has reached the finals of the National Business Awards.
Mother and entrepreneur, Lucy Tapper, has earned herself a place in the final line-up of 'The Mumpreneur Awards', an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.
The mother of two runs Lucy's World with her husband Steve, creating personalised artworks, cards and books.
Lucy has been shortlisted for two awards, the best Mumpreneur product award and the best start up business award, which is open to businesses who physically work closely with clients.
Since launching Lucy's World in 2011 Lucy has sold personalised artworks to more than 7,000 happy customers, including celebrities Fearne Cotton, Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl, Jake Humphrey and most recently little Prince George!
She has also created the best selling award winning mother/child journals 'Our Story' and she and Steve are looking forward to the launch of their children's book 'HedgeHugs' in January.
Lucy said: 'Over the last few years, I have managed to juggle being a full-time mummy and build a successful business and I am delighted to have been recognised for my achievements. It would be amazing to win this award!'
As well as being shortlisted for this category, Lucy is also in with a chance of winning the title of The Inspirational Business Mum 2013, sponsored by The Formations Company, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business.
Lucy's entry will be judged by a panel of top entrepreneurs including former Dragon and Mumpreneur Hilary Devey.
The winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards in Birmingham on September 28.
This event is open to all parents who juggle family and business, and also for those interested in taking the plunge and starting up.
