THE new GP medical practice in Bow had a notable visitor recently — Central Devon MP Mel Stride.

The surgery reopened on April 2 after the new building was constructed to replace an old and unsuitable facility.

Staffed by Dr Andrew Bower and Dr Susan Taheri, the practice provides a full range of NHS services, including maternity, contraception, minor surgery and child health surveillance services for more than 5,000 patients.

Mr Stride said: 'I was inspired by this very impressive new surgery. In particular, I have no doubt that its airy, light and spacious feel will make patients comfortable.

'The enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff is also very clear.'

The new surgery has been designed by Andrew Saunders of Ford Gilpin Riley in Exeter, and built by J E Stacey, of Holsworthy. Mr Stride also met Mr Saunders and practice manager Michelle Freeburn on his visit.

Patients, including new patients joining the practice, will be offered a health check to promote good health.
