WEST Devon and Torridge MP John Burnett will be raising the profile of trade justice at an event at Hatherleigh later this month.
The MP has already attended a ?Rich man, Poor man? dinner at Holsworthy, organised by the Rock Solid youth group to focus on the inequities of world trade. During the evening, 20 people were served a slap-up, while the majority made do with a bowl of rice.
Mr Burnett said: ?The involvement of so many young people in this campaign is truly inspiring. This is a very important national campaign ? I am grateful to everyone who is involved in championing the cause of millions who live in abject poverty.?
Mr Burnett will be at the ?Lobby your MP? gathering on trade justice at Hatherleigh Methodist Church on Friday June 27 at 7.30pm. The event is part of the national campaign taking place during the weekend, when ordinary people hope to influence those who make the rules for world trade.
