MOUNT House hockey girls had good wins against Kelly College Prep and Exeter Cathedral School, and acquitted themselves well at the Independent Association of Prep Schools? U11 tournament. Against Kelly, after a scrappy first half the Mount House U11 A team played a much more tight and determined second, with Lizzie Fearnley scoring for the first time this season. Kelly pulled one goal back, but a second Mount House score, from Eliza Sale, was sufficient to seal the victory. In the other match against Kelly, the Mount side won more comfortably by five goals to two. Against Exeter Cathedral School, the Mount House under 13 A and B squads played half the match each against one Exeter team. The A squad had a convincing 3-0 lead by half time, with two goals from India Leigh and one from Emily Redman. The B team scored two in the second half, from Poppy Hartley and Izzy Norris, conceding one for an overall 5-1 victory. The Under 11s were drawn in a difficult group at the IAPS West Regional Tournament. They lost their first game 1-0 to Chafyn Grove, the eventual winners, before holding Millfield to a no-score draw. The team drew 1-1 against Leweston before facing Sunninghill and goals from Izzie Kidner and four from Eliza Sale secured a 5-0 victory. The tough opposition of Taunton were kept out again by solid defence from the Mount House girls for a scoreless draw.
