MOUNT Kelly Swim Centre will play host to a national fundraising swim event this April and is offering the opportunity for anyone in the area who is up for a challenge to get involved.
Swimathon is the world’s biggest fundraising swim and it is now 30 years old.
In that time it has prompted more than half a million swimmers, of all ages and abilities, to swim a distance challenge. This year the nation-wide event is raising funds for Marie Curie.
The Swim Centre, featuring a brand new 50 metre Olympic Legacy pool, is offering the opportunity to anyone in the area who is interested in participating to take on a challenge to raise money for charitable causes.
Swimathon has, to date, raised more than £46-million for charity through this annual event.
Anyone who is interested in participating on April 8 or 9 can contact the centre on 01822 813170 or visit www.swimathon.org
