ALL children in Mount Kelly Pre-Prep took part in a sponsored runathon in the sports hall last Friday in aid of the UK charity MACS (Micro and Aopthalmic Childrens Society), a charity that supports children born with no eyes or undeveloped eyes.

Organised by pupils in Year 1, they linked the event to their ‘healthy living’ topic and made healthy snacks for all the runners to enjoy afterwards.

Between them, the runners raised £2,326.88 from sponsorship from family and friends. This will be added to further sponsorship raised by local resident Carmel Nye who is running the London Marathon in aid of MACS.

If any readers would like to find out more information about MACS or would like to make a donation go to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Carmel Nye
