MOUNT House School under 12s put in their best performance of the season so far against Plymouth College in the semi-final of the Devon Cricket Cup. Bowling first in difficult conditions, all six Mount House bowlers adjusted their bowling to concentrate purely on line and length. Their accuracy forced the Plymouth batsmen to take risks with some rash shots and reckless running between wickets. Three good catches and four excellent run-outs saw Plymouth out for only 56 runs. In their reply, Mount House raced to 23 off the first two overs with an aggressive attack on the Plymouth bowling. Rhys Davies was out during this onslaught for 13, but Julian Bertie (19 no) and Freddie Jayarajah made steadier progress to reach the target of 57 in only nine of their 20 overs. The final will be played at Bideford, when Mount House will meet either Exeter Cathedral School or Churston Ferrers School from South Devon.
