BOYS and girls from Mount House competed with teams from other Devon Schools at the Kelly Trophy athletics competition. There were team trophies for boys and girls at U12 and U14 levels.

The Mount House U12 boys won their competition by a convincing margin. William Partington had an outstanding day, winning gold medals in the long and high jump as well as the 100m sprint. He was well-supported by Ralph Lopes, who won gold in the javelin and silver medals in the 200m and the 70m hurdles. Alex d'Entrecasteaux took gold in shot-putt, and the relay team of Harry Sale, Will Partington, Ralph Lopes and last-minute substitute Jonty Walliker won the 4 x 100m relay

The U12s girls competed well to take third spot. Highlights were Lucy Walliker taking silver in the high jump and bronze in the 70m hurdles, Ellie Dowie winning bronze in the 800m, and Jess Huntington a bronze in the 1500m.

Mount House also won the boys' U14s trophy, with golds for Ben Clarke in the shot and the javelin, and Ben d'Entrecasteaux in the discus. Ben Hoolash and Jamie Anderson both cleared 1m 44cms in the high jump, and Ben winning on count back. Henry Lopes won silver in the triple jump and 200m, and Ben Harding in the 75m hurdles. Jonnie Massey took bronze in the 400m, and the 4 x 100 squad of Massey, Lopes, Harding and Clarke were second for silver.

The Mount U14 girls were equal second overall with only one point less than the winners. Gemma Robbins won gold in the shot and bronze in the javelin. Marina Carrick won silver in the 100m and bronze in the high jump.
