LOPWELL Dam will host a variety of events this month to celebrate English Nature?s Local Nature Reserve week.
The activities will kick off with a Children?s Walk and Creek Dip at the Milton Combe site on Saturday July 17.
Children will be able to spend the day with the dam?s community liaison officer Paul Gregory and education officer Liz Eagle to enjoy some riverside fun from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Later the same day Paul will join Tom Sleep from Devon Moth Group for an evening of moth watching when people will be able to observe the remarkable insects up close.
On Sunday July 18, between 10am and 3pm, there will be a guided walk focusing on the wildlife, habitats and history of the Lopwell Dam site.
The walk will follow the Tamar Discovery Trail through the Tavy estuary landscape to Bere Ferrers ? and into the Plough for lunch ? before returning along the same route.
The final event is on the Sunday evening when Paul will join Del Saunders of Devon Bat Group for an evening of bat watching, including a slide show and short walk when bats will be identified with the aid of bat detectors.
