MORE advice will soon be available to people in Okehampton, with the decision by West Devon Citizens Advice Bureau to extend its opening hours. An advice session on Wednesday morning is being introduced in addition to the current Tuesday and Thursday opening hours. Bureau manager Barbara Osborne said: 'This is something we have been working towards for a while. Now that we have a good strong group of trained advisers we are able to extend our service.' The additional opening hours will offer advice by telephone and by appointment from 10am to1pm beginning on Wednesday, December 6. Mrs Osborne added: 'We wanted to begin the new service as soon as possible, in time for the Christmas rush. The Tavistock bureau cannot extend its services at present as we need to recruit and train more volunteers from the area. There are plenty of problems in West Devon that people need help with and our aim is to be open and available when people need us.' West Devon Citizen Advice Bureau is based at the Ockment Centre and Kingdon House in Tavistock. For appointments or advice call 01837 52574 or 01822 612359.
