DARTMOOR here we come! West Devon mayor Peter Hill shows off the newly published Dartmoor Holiday Map, which will ensure that visitors and locals alike can make the most of the moor.

The new map is attractive and easy to use, and is packed with definitive information on activities and attractions, ranging from pony trekking to hot air ballooning; from granite tors to rivers; from museums to wildlife centres; from farmers markets to art galleries, and much more.

The map also provides informative tales about Dartmoor?s history, landscape, literature, myths and wildlife, plus stunning photography of the moor at its best.

It has been produced by West Devon Borough Council in consultation with Dartmoor National Park Authority and Dartmoor Tourist Association and is available free to visitors from the borough?s tourist information centres in Bedford Square, Tavistock and the Museum Courtyard, Okehampton.

Nadine Trout, West Devon Council?s tourism officer, who was the brainchild behind the map, said: ?The map is ideal for everyone who loves Dartmoor whether they are a visitor or have lived in the area all their life.

?It makes Dartmoor accessible, and at a glance, users can see attractions across the area.?
