TAVISTOCK College's new logo has been unveiled to the community, following months of hard work by students.

The logo is the result of collaboration between college students, staff and professional designers and will replace the old 'tick' logo and town crest which had been in use at the college.

Personal development lead teacher Eva Pearson said: 'Students worked with designers to produce a logo which they felt represented the modern college while respecting its history. The calligraphy pays tribute to more than 1,000 years of schooling in the town.

'The circular formations suggest unity and cohesion and has been well received by governors, staff and students.'

The logo will be phased in across the college by September 2011.
