TAVISTOCK Tennis Club took part in the seventh round of tennis in the Plymouth and District League — although the Men's C, Ladies A and B games have had to be postponed to a later date, because of poor weather.

RESULTS - Division one: Tavistock Men's A (Linden Hardisty and Simon Prout, Phil Ruse and Josh Brown) v Devonshire A (away), won 8-1, 55 points.  Division two: Men's B (Phil Harbottle and Tony Du'Gay, Rick Read and Jeremy Hyde) v Devonshire B (away), lost 3-6, 24pts. Division three: Men's D (Bill Sparks and Paul Newton, Peter Rodgers and Charles Snow) v Plympton A (home), lost 1-8, 25pts. Division six: Men's E (Peter Bradley and John White, Mike Baker and Alex Samborne) v Devonshire C (away), lost 3-7, 30pts. Division seven: Men's F (Luke Wakley and Steve Fletcher, John Mulley and John Medland) v Hill Lane C (away), won 6-4, 44pts. Division five: Tavistock Ladies C (Wendy George and Liz Webb, Kathy Byrne and Mel Broadhead) v Yelverton C (home), lost 2-6, 29pts. Yelverton  are at the top of this league, so Tavistock has had an uphill struggle to gain points in both their home and away matches.
