DARTMOOR Search and Rescue Tavistock team have assisted a number of walkers needing help on Dartmoor recently.
The team were called out mid-evening on Saturday September 24, to search for two missing walkers lost on open moor in darkness and thick mist.
After several hours searching, the walkers were located near Chat Tor just before midnight and escorted off the moor.
After assisting with the Abbots Way Walk on Sunday, the team were called by police to search for four female walkers lost on the south of Dartmoor. The four had run out of water and become exhausted and dehydrated in the heat of the day.
They were located at Great Gnats Head and given water and assistance by the team. They were then walked to the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team LandRover and evacuated to the road at Peat Cott.
