OKEHAMPTON Town Council has appealed for help in finding the mayor?s gold pendant, which has gone missing. The pendant was lost last Friday morning. Mayor Cllr Frances Luxton lost the item before an official engagement. She believes it was lost somewhere between her home at Alfordon Farm and the centre of Okehampton. Despite an extensive search and re-tracing the mayor?s journey, the valuable object has not turned up. The council is offering a reward for its safe return. If anyone has found the pendant or has any information about its whereabouts they can contact the town clerk on 01837 53179 or Okehampton Police on 08452 777444. The mayoral gold chains were fully restored four years ago to ensure the council continued to present a smart image.
