WEIR Quay Sailing Club have been holding their final race of their sailing season over the New Year holiday.

Seven boats took part in calm and sunny conditions and light winds stringing out competitors over the figure of eight course.

The fast handicap boats competed over three laps and the slow over two laps with Ben Houghton being first over the start line in a Mirror and ?Who?s Blue? holding on to the lead for much of the first lap before being overtaken by John Tomlinson in Wayfarer ?Final Chance?.

Slow handicap over two laps: 1, Ben Houghton, 47 minutes; 2, Ian Thomas, Mirror ?Maroon?; 3, Steve Kirby, Skipper 14.
