PARENTING and family learning will be issues tackled at sessions in Sticklepath, Okehampton, Chagford and Highampton during February and March.
A group of Okehampton mums have been awarded a millennium grant to fund their training and expenses in order to present the Pre-School Learning Alliance's parent pack 'Looking at Learning Together.'
The pack explores what being a parent involves, looking at our own learning experiences and using these to think about what and how children learn.
Informal discussions to introduce parents to the pack will be held at Sticklepath Village Hall on February 6 from 7-9pm and the Ockment Community Centre, Okehampton, on February 15 from 9.15am to 11.30am.
Further sessions are planned for Chagford and Highampton during March. Booking is essential at least seven days in advance as numbers are limited. Free childcare is also available.
The Pre-School Learning Alliance, which has 37 years experience in education, has been granted nearly £2.8 million by the Millennium Commission to provide Family Learning Millennium Awards.
