A TEAM of Mid Devon riders competed with the best at the National Championships last weekend.

The four day event that ran as a long format three day event was held at Aston Le Walls in Northamptonshire and attracted teams from all over the UK.

Alice Monger was first to compete coming sixth place individually.

Daisy Cornwall represented the club in the Novice section to take seventh place individually.

The intermediate team consisting of Izzy Potts, Sally Mcintyre, Charlie Rowe and Jen Rashbrooke had mixed fortunes throughout the event.

Shouna Sibcy's ride, Rio was unable to perform due to an injury but Izzy Potts stepped in as first reserve. All horses produced good dressage tests and jumped well but sadly Sally Mcintyre's ride Tilly picked up an injury and was unable to complete the event.

The team finished 19th with Charlie Rowe and Bobstar in fourth position and Jen Rashbrooke and Marius in seventh position individually.

The open team consisting of Marie Ewen, Charlie Rowe , Amanda Friend and Kim Bland had a fantastic start taking second place on the first day.

All four horses completed the cross country and steeplechase courses ready for the final showjumping test.

Nerves struck for the show jump track but The Mid Devon Open team finished in second place.

Individually Charlie Rowe and Delilah achieved third place and Marie Ewen and Winnie Bago achieved seventh individually.

The team thanked all the local businesses who supported them on their journey to the championships.
