IN this part of Devon, we are so lucky to be surrounded by moorland, which most people treat with respect and, I am sure, really appreciate. However, there is a small group – they know whom they are – that seems to think our beautiful Roborough Common is somewhere to drive around on like idiots, particularly after dark.

It is very upsetting to see the ugly mess that their 'fun' can cause, and other people have to put up with the results for months, if not years.

To those few spoilsports I say, all is not lost. . . . pick a sunny day and get out of your vehicle and walk. Breathe the fresh air, listen to the birdsong — love this wonderful and remarkable place. It will make you feel much better about yourself and life too, I promise.
