TAVISTOCK's Memory Café is now 18 months old and going from strength to strength. The café is a place where people living with dementia, together with their carers, or anyone with memory problems, can go and have a cup of tea and socialise with others in a non-threatening atmosphere. Activities are provided for those living with dementia while carers can rest and discuss anything which may be concerning them, and get professional advice on an informal basis. Members also take part in outings to places including the Donkey Park at St Ann's Chapel, Roadford Reservoir and the Theatre Royal. The fortnightly café meets at the Anchorage Centre next to the town's bus station on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. For more information call 01822 616958.
