PEOPLE who would like to influence and shape the future of the rights of way network and access to land and water in Devon are being invited to join the Devon Local Access Forum. The forum, which has been in existence for two years, is seeking to recruit five new members, prepared to serve on the forum for a period of three years. It is a statutory body, set up by Devon County Council in response to the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The aim of the forum is to debate many topics and to achieve a consensus view on priorities and procedures. In this round of appointments, the council is seeking both access users and land managers. Applications from cyclists and those with disabilities would be particularly welcome. For further details and an application form contact the secretary, Hilary Winter, Lucombe House, Devon County Council, Topsham Road, Exeter EX2 4QW or e-mail: [email protected]">[email protected]. More information on the Devon Local Access Forum and an on-line application form can be found at www. devon.gov.uk/index/transport The closing date for applications is February 28.
