ST ANDREW'S Church and Holy Trinity in the Bere Peninsula continued to celebrate their 750th anniversary of the granting of the position of Archpriest with a medieval rector's breakfast last weekend. Around 50 people were treated to a spectacular meal researched by the Rev Nick Law and lay reader Sheila Gay. It included a hearty porridge, various authentic cheeses such as goat, cheddar, roquefort, stilton and brie, accompanied by rye, walnut and the poor man's skillet bread. Additionally there were pancakes and tender beef which had been marinaded and cooked in stout, all washed down with watered wine, beer or apple juice.
