Kate Bush tribute to 'dear friend' lost in Devon Christmas Day swimAn eight course banquet was held in Bere Ferrers church hall, hosted by William and Carole Spearing, who were 'Lord' and 'Lady' for the evening. More than 70 guests dressed in authentic costumes were welcomed through the doors, and Grace was recited in Latin by Diana Mitchell before a variety of sweetmeats, savoury pies and meat dishes were offered.
Activities and games were held between meals, along with an auction of food in aid of church funds and a trio of costumed minstrels, Tim Hampson, Pru and Beth Barnes, helped add to the fun filled atmosphere.
The event ended with the Rev Nick Law thanking everyone involved in such a successful evening.
