Yelverton Bohemians v Halberton and Sampford Peverell

Yelverton got back on Saturday to winning ways with a workmanlike five wicket victory over Halberton and SP.

The visitors were asked to bat first at Langton Park and after a promising first wicket stand of 55 was ended by Joel Avery, three wickets fell for the addition of six runs.  From 61-3 a fourth wicket partnership of 39 got Halberton past the 100 mark but once again the loss of three wickets for six runs saw the batting side in trouble at 106-6.  Some lower order resistance got Halberton up to 142-9 when the overs ran out.

Joel Avery (3-24), Rich West (2-15) & James Harrison (2-32) kept it tight for the Bohemians.  Halberton's main run-getters were T Sambrook wih 39 and J Chilcott with 21.

Yelverton's reply was led by an excellent opening partnership of 108 between Dave Scott (43) and Ricky McDowell (50).

Both fell in quick succession to leave the Bohemians on 114-2, but despite losing three further wickets Yelverton eased to victory on 145-5  with 10 overs to spare.  J Turner took 4-30 for the visitors.
