A NEW awards scheme to mark the special achievements by individuals and organisations in West Devon has been launched by the mayor of the borough, Cllr Richard Phillips.
Two awards will be made per year — one to a young person under the age of 18 and the second to an organisation, business or person aged 18 and over.
Cllr Phillips, who will be one of the judges of the awards, said: 'We are looking for those who have done something particularly noteworthy within the borough, or enhanced the reputation of West Devon on the national stage.'
Nominations for the awards must be sent in by October 31 and the winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 17.
