BAT's Badminton Club played their second match of the Plymouth and District Summer Badminton League recently and found the going far tougher than in their first.
With Mayflower Wednesday Badminton putting out almost their winter league team BAT's were forced into some late changes.
In the first of the men's doubles rubbers Julian and James Cooper found the Mayflower partnership far too difficult to handle and went down 8 - 15, 2 - 15.
In the second men's doubles rubber Julian Cooper partnered Alan Berry and though they played well in the first game they to went down 12 - 15, 6 - 15.

BAT's had only taken one point out of the three points available.
In the ladies' doubles rubbers, though the BAT's ladies competed for every point they found the Mayflower Ladies too strong for them.
In the first rubber Kate Wright and Di Philips lost the first game 6 - 15 and pushed the Mayflower pair for most of the second game before losing out 11 - 15.
In the second ladies' doubles rubber Kate Wright and Colette David were playing together for the first time in league competition but lost out to some good play by the Mayflower ladies 2 - 15, 5 - 15.
The third ladies' doubles rubber was a one-sided rubber with the BAT's ladies of Di Philips and Colette David losing 2 - 15, 2 - 15.
With only pride to play for the BAT's players were determined to gain further points in the mixed doubles rubbers. Julian Cooper partnered Kate Wright in a close rubber with both pairings having chances to win the games before the rubber went to the Mayflower players 15 - 13, 17 - 14.
In the second mixed doubles, James Cooper partnered Di Philips and they put together some good rallies to show how to win 15 - 9, 15 - 9.

The final result gave Mayflower the victory by 6 points to 3 but at the end of the evening BAT's were pleased to come away with the three points.
