MARY Tavy will be part of a national play day next week, which will see a day full of fun activities and games for youngsters.

Between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday (August 3), there will be a huge range of activities, including arts and crafts, tennis, badminton, rounders, football, kite flying, scavenger hunts, sand and water, parachute games, capture the flag and giant board games such as Twister, Snakes and Ladders and Draughts.

All these activities are free, there is no entry charge or cost for taking part and there will be some small prizes. It is hoped that the weather will be kind and everyone is invited to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch with other families.

Three local organisations are working together to make this a really exciting event and hopefully the first of what will become a local annual tradition.

Artful Toddlers and the Mary Tavy Jubilee Group have initiatied the event.

All children must be accompanied by an adult who will remain responsible for them throughout the event.
