TAMAR Valley Hash House Harriers will be marking 30 years of cross-country muddy running this year with a celebratory bash.
In March 1981, Chris Laurence-King held an inaugural meeting of the newly formed Tamar Valley Hash House Harriers (TVH3) and together with co-founders Sara Laurence-King and Simon Trehane, the first run on a Monday night set off from Bedford Car Park in Tavistock.
Since then the club has never missed a run on a Monday night, with 40 to 60 runners of varying ability, enjoying some exercise before socialising over a well-earned drink.
Over the years TVH3 runners have started two other hash groups, Drake Hash (DH3) and the road running group Stannary Hash (SH3).
To celebrate the 30 years, a bash has been arranged at Kelly College Hall, with local band the Gruff Nuts and a buffet and bar.
TVH3 would love to see as many past and present hashers as possible at the event on Saturday April 2, at 7.30pm, to make it a real celebration of social running and friendship. Other hashers are also welcome to attend.
Tickets are available in advance only, by contacting either 01822 617713 or [email protected]">[email protected]
