OKEHAMPTON Farmers' Market celebrates its fifth anniversary this Saturday, September 20.
The farmers' market has survived some turbulent times, in particular during the foot and mouth crisis, but the event is now on the up again.
Okehampton was among the first towns in Devon to set up a regular farmers' market offering a wide range of locally-produced food and crafts.
Among the range of farm produce on offer are free range eggs, cheese, milk, cream, organic apple juice and cider and quality meat including beef, lamb, duck, chicken and even ostrich.
Linda Davis, of Westlake Orchards, who is among those who has a stall at the market, said: 'It is growing and going from strength to strength now. We have been well supported by local people.'
There will be a scrumptious specially-made birthday cake to help celebrate the anniversary.
The farmers' market takes place in Okehampton's Charter Hall, this Saturday, from 9am to 2pm.
