ONCE again Cllr Moyse, chairman of the future planning and housing committee and deputy leader of the Conservative Group on West Devon chooses to involve the public in her political groups internecine warfare over the substitution of its members for the vote on the core strategy (Letters,August 5).

Can I please assure your readers that many of the members at West Devon are tired of this issue, and feel it is bringing the council as a whole into disrepute. We prefer to operate on a policy, not personality, level to try and get the best for our communities through the delivery of sound future development and in the process represent their concerns.

Staff and members have been very involved with the current future planning issues over several years, and discussion has been robust along the way.

I fear our commitment will be devalued by the public if a senior member, seemingly driven by internal political group strife, continues to affect all her colleagues by association in a debate on the matter of substitution

CLLR Moyse has the audacity to say she did not hear the question correctly at the recent meeting in Okehampton in my view, the question was very clear, it was the reply that was a mumbled no.  A person in her position would never answer such an important question without being sure of the question in the first place!

It is very obvious that the Conservative Group are in total disarray with no-one taking control of this situation, answering questions and most importantly trying to restore the publics confidence in the councillors we voted for this whole business is a prime example of the rot in todays society.

I am still awaiting a reply to a letter printed two weeks ago!
