VILLAGERS and visitors enjoyed plenty of fun and games at the Lydford Fayre and Dog Show.
The event, which is normally held in July but had to be postponed due to the weather, was deemed one of the most successful, despite the change of date.
The afternoon fayre was followed by the showing of 'Mamma Mia!' in the Film in the Field event — an outdoor cinema for the first time in Lydford. People sat, stood and jigged around to the succession of well-known Abba songs.
Chairman of the sports field Paul Brookes said: 'I would like to thank everyone who helped organise these events, including the putting up, serving, presenting, putting away and sweeping up. This was not just the sports field committee but many helpful villagers too. These events are vital to the village and help foster the community spirit for which Lydford is well known.'
