TAVISTOCK could only field six against a strong Saltash side.
But Ruth Cole and captain Louise Galway were so strong at the back that Saltash could not break through.
A tackle in the box from Cole was deemed unfair and a well taken penalty from Saltash put them ahead.
The second half saw long goal kicks from Della Maloney reaching the goalmouth and Katie O?Leary put pressure on the keeper. Tavistock were letting loose balls go and not chasing in on them but suddenly a great corner kick by Aisha Macauley, which involved Della Maloney coming out of goal, was met by Galway who slammed a shot towards goal and Rhianne Parsons tapped in to get the equaliser.
With only four minutes remaining Tavistock were happy with a draw but after Cole had battled away and brought the ball upfield they had other plans. Galway played superbly and Saltash made the mistake of taking their eye off Parsons. After a great ball forward she struck to put Tavistock into the lead.
Tavistock defended superbly. Della Maloney in goal found herself on a one-to-one but made a fantastic save to give Tavistock a well deserved victory.
