THE first of a new weekly music-making workshop for adults was held on April 24.

The Make Music with Wren sessions launched at Okehampton Church Hall, offering people of all abilities the chance to play a wide variety of musical instruments, including guitars, basses, fiddles, concertinas and drums.

At the sessions tunes are to be learned by ear so that no music reading skills are required. The first sessions focus on traditional English music, and everyone who attends will develop their repertoire over time.

The sessions are led by musicians David Faulkner and Becki Driscoll, who have years of experience leading music workshops and projects across Devon and further afield.

The workshops are free, thanks to the support of the Okehampton United Charity and Devon County Council.
