THE ladies? section at Yelverton Golf Club has been busy during the past two weeks.

The ladies played an away match against Bigbury on June 20, in the Devon County Scratch competition, and won by four matches to three.

In the Devon League the ladies? team played a match against a strong team at Dainton Park on June 16 and lost three points to ten. On June 24 they played against the Manor Golf Club at Moretonhampsted and lost six points to eight.

In the Shelagh Creasy bowl competition the ladies? team played an away match against Honiton on June 23, and won by four matches to three. Another away match against Tavistock on June 25 was lost two matches to four.

The ladies played the June stableford competition combined with the Grandmothers? Cup competition on June 25, a perfect day for playing golf, especially for the grandmothers!

The silver division was won by the ladies? captain, Jean James who also won the Grandmothers? Cup with 43 points. Penny Hunter was runner-up with 43 points and third was Maggie Flanagan with 39 points.

The bronze division was won by Lilias Strachan with 37 points, runner up was Diane Reardon with 36 points and third was Angie Howard with 36 points.
