SPARKS will be flying at Okehampton Library as it holds a half-term activity on the seasonal theme of bonfire night.
?Making Sparks? will take place tomorrow (Friday) from 2.30pm to 3.30pm and is aimed at children aged five to ten years of age. Tickets are available in advance priced 50p from the library.
Devon libraries are also calling all young artists to enter a competition to win two first prizes of art sets. You would not expect to find animals in your local library ? not even a pelican picking up picture books or a lion lounging in the corner ? but youngsters are being encouraged to imagine what kind of animal would make a good library pet, or even a useful member of staff!
Children aged five and over are then invited to draw or paint their idea, along with the reason for their choice of animal. Entries must be on A4 paper and handed in to the library by Saturday, October 30.
